As Communications Coordinator for Mennonite Central Committee Haiti I was primarily working with Haitian Partner organizations to help them to begin to look at how to organize and communicate to others about the amazing work they do.
Gwoupman Model
This is a Model used by MCC's partner organization Konbit Peyizan showcased in a way that explains the foundation concept that they use to build solidarity within a community. From this simple model, their work is sustainably growing within these communities.
In Haiti there are a lot of opportunities for international grants and partnerships to gain funding for NGO's in Haiti. If the organization doesn't have web presence or a logo it could be difficult for them to gain an international audience of people paying attention to what they are doing. Though a website might not be ideal there may also be other small communications steps that could be more sustainable.
Konbit Peyizan is an organization that was growing but didn't have any web presence. I worked with them to understand their work and find what made them unique. We had several trainings helping them understand how to communicate about what they do and what stories they have to tell that people need to hear.

Francklin shows us the mountain side of Mount Saint Jou where all the trees have been reforested by Konbit Peyizan in the last 20 years
We worked together to determine and develop the copy content and how it would be organized in a website. After many conversations we developed a website that contained all the work they do, explaining it in a simple way. A training with a few of the workers at Konbit Peyizan to allow them to add stories themselves without the help of Mennonite Central Committee.
